This has got to be one of the best films around at the moment. Written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, it tells the story of Freddie Taylor (Christian Cooke), how he has managed to get out of his working class roots, but how it wasn't all it seemed, and how in Cemetery Junction, nothing ever really gets exciting.
the look of this film is great and I loved the three friends that the film revolves around. They provide some great lines and really funny scenes.
This has got to be a recommended film right now.

Kick Ass
This film has had alot of hype recently so I was expecting alot from it. And I think it delivered.
It was entertaining and funny, which I much prefer when watching an action film.
This film sees Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) create his own superhero even though he has no powers or no real training. Straight away, the idea seems a good one.
The best characters however have to be father and daughter Damon and Mindy Macready, (Nicolas Cage and Chloe Moretz), who have created Big Daddy and Hit Girl with a similar, yet more sinister, idea of their own.
Definately worth catching this film if you can.

Shutter Island
I liked the way this film was set up. Teddy Daniels is the U.S Marshal investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane. But of course there is more to it than that.
But I couldn't help thinking that towards the end of the film, I still hadn't really got into this film, it didn't impress me as much as I thought it would having seen the trailer.
I did like Leonardo DiCaprio's role as Teddy Daniels and at the end, I liked how everything unravelled. So if thrillers are your thing, worth a watch.

Dude Where's My Car
I had heard a couple of people talking about this film a while before I watched it and I think I may have set my expectations too high.
I really didn't like this film at all. It seemed to be too rediculous, and not tryed too hard at being funny when it really wasn't. I suppose I could see why young teenagers may have liked it when it first came out, but in my point of view, this would be a film to avoid at all costs.

The Women
In fitting with the title, the cast to this film is entirely made up of only women. A nice concept. And I quite like the set up of the film. But something seems to let it down.
I got the feeling that this is a great film when you watch it for the first time, but when I watched for the second time the other week, it didn't seem to stand out as much as I remember. I think it will become a film that most people will forget.
Having said that, there are one or two moments that I did like in this film. the housekeepers of the main character, (Mary Haines, played by Meg Ryan) provide some moments to smile about with their nosey-ness and gossiping. Also, Mary's mother has a couple of great lines.
So probably not a recommendation but if you really fancy it.
